Magoffin County Schools Career and Technical Education Addition
Salyersville, KY

Construction In Progress

Magoffin Co. Schools received both a generous donation from a local philanthropist, as well as grant funds from a recent KY House Bill, to set this project in motion. The district’s vocational school is aged, with many of their CTE programs currently being taught in their high school. A 29,700 s.f. addition will be added to the high school in order to accommodate current and new vocational pathways for the district. Those pathways include: Welding Technology, Electrical Technology, Carpentry, Computer Programming, Health Science Education, Criminology, and Agricultural Education.

The building will be placed on a footprint of open parking lot that was planned years ago. This construction consolidates the students onto one campus and eliminates bussing and cross-town commuter traffic. It further places all the instructors on one campus and build community and educational identity. The existing vocational building abandoned by this move will be converted to a bus service building to further satisfy facility needs.
