West Main Crafting Company was a premier Craft Cocktail Lounge located on Main Street in Lexington, Kentucky. alt32 was tasked with renovating and modernizing the early 20th century building, transforming it into a suitable space for a competitive kitchen and an authentic and inviting cocktail lounge.

Upon approaching the building, one first notices a large steel canopy and accompanying sign. These modernized elements pay homage to the original facade based on hundred-year-old images provided by the owner.

As one enters the space, it becomes apparent that significant structural changes have taken place. With the assistance of the structural engineer, the design team was able to deploy a scheme that eliminated all columns along the center aisle of the building, allowing for an expansive environment to occur.

Among the many modernizations that occurred, a special emphasis was placed on the lighting, furniture and finish materials that were selected to create a warm and authentic space that is as visually engaging as the drinks that are consumed there.
